THE PINEAL GLAND & MARIJUANA

THE MECHANICS OF THE HEART & SOUL

THE MECHANICS OF THE HEART & SOUL

Why has the pineal gland fascinated humanity for eons?  René Descartes, dubbed the inventor of western philosophy and elite scientist, believed the pineal gland to be the principal seat of the soul.

"Is the pineal gland the seat of spirituality and consciousness, is it the site of the primordial “third eye”, is the pineal gland encaptured by the Egyptians in their statues and artwork?  There is a lot of evidence, both from the ancients and modern researchers that the pineal gland is responsible in large part for the activity or effects of psychoactive drugs."

THE PINEAL GLAND - MELATONIN & CANNABIS

The Pineal gland is responsible for producing and releasing melatonin.  Melatonin is normally released when there is near total darkness and release stops when there is light.  The day-night cycle is called circadian rhythms.  Smooth and uninterrupted circadian rhythms are fundamental to proper body and mental function.  Another substance that is postulated to be produced in the pineal gland is pinoline, whose most outstanding pharmacological properties is its ability to promote neurogenesis.

"A basic goal of medical practitioners should be; to find the right mixture of cannabinoids and other natural medicinals that balances the function of the brain - the hypothalamus and pituitary gland - that re-balances their natural function."

THC, marijuana’s most common active ingredient has been shown to cause anxiety in some patients, but when THC is given with cannabinoids (like CBD) and terpenes it works in synergy to produce more sedative effects.  Together, their action may stimulate the pineal gland to release melatonin.

MARIJUANA STRAINS WITH THC & MYRCENE

When THC is combined with the terpene Myrcene, THC is  more sedating and acts as a muscle relaxant.  Studies also show the mixture (found naturally in several strains) potentates sleep time, which p\helps people stay asleep.   Though all the science is not yet in, this effectively explains  “couch-lock,” a feeling reported by many a user.  Couch lock is actually a useful therapeutic effect for those that are too highly strung and have a problem unwinding. ther cannabis terpenes that contribute to relaxation and sleep are nerolidol, linalool and limonene.

Cannabis cannabinoids not only appear to help regulate circadian rhythms, but also bodily rhythms such as cardiac rhythms and racing of the heart.

PRIMARY FUNCTION OF THE PINEAL GLAND

As far as western medicine is concerned, the primary function of the pineal gland is to produce melatonin.  Melatonin performs several functions in the central nervous system, the most important modulating sleep patterns. Melatonin release is inhibited by light and stimulated by darkness.   Light sensory nerve cells in the retina detect blue light and send a signal to the suprachiasmatic nucleus.

"Forget everything else.  Imagine if you felt good mentally most of the time, and you had the power to control your emotions and behavior how you want.  What kind of person would you be? And what kind of success would you have?"

THE MECHANICS OF THE HEART & SOUL

Modern Science agrees ancient writing, the pineal gland is a driving force behind your character, if not your soul, marijuana has been found to play a very similar role bio-chemically..Cannabis has been shown to show efficacy in neuroregeneration, sleep disorders, stress, appetite for food and sex, all of which parallel the functions of the hypothalamus and pineal glands.  Recently, researchers are discovering how phyto-cannabinoids and other components of the marijuana plant, interplay and balance (or imbalance) this heart and soul command center of the brain.

The suprachiasmatic nucleus - SCN is a tiny region of the brain in the hypothalamus (brain), situated directly above the optic chiasm which is connected to the eye (retinal nerves) contains only 20,000 neurons.  It is responsible for controlling circadian rhythms over the 24-hour cycle.  The neuronal and hormonal activity of the SCN regulates many different body functions.   The SCN interacts with other regions of the brain and has several cell types that produce different peptides such as the hormone vasopressin, vasoactive intestinal peptide and neurotransmitters.

It is important to synchronize the SCN to the day-night cycle. Nerve fibers then relay retinal activation (to blue light) from the SCN to the paraventricular nuclei  or PVN.

The paraventricular nucleus is a nucleus in the hypothalamus (brain) where its neurons are  activated by physiological changes including stress. The PVN neurons project directly the pituitary where oxytocin is released into the blood. Oxytocin has hormonal) action, and acts on the brain. There is a oxytocin receptor  that requires magnesium and cholesterol to work properly.  Oxytocin's has a role in behaviors, including orgasm, social recognition, pair bonding, anxiety, and maternal behaviors.  Other neurons in the hypothalamus - pituitary-system are involved directly in the regulation of appetite and autonomic functions in the brainstem and spinal cord.

STUDY - RODENTS

Studies on rodents find that pineal gland probably influences the secretion of the sex hormones, hair follicle-stimulating hormone, and luteinizing sex (testosterone) hormones.

Studies on rats suggest that the pineal gland probably interacts with recreational drugs and that its hormone melatonin protects against neurodegeneration.  Recreational drugs which interfere with the activity of the pineal, like cocaine and other hard drugs is conjectured to cause significant misbehavior.

Studies in mice suggest that the pineal-derived melatonin regulates new bone deposition, which is consistent with the observed bone stimulating growth of CBD, the second most common phytocannabinoid of marijuana.   Pineal-derived melatonin mediated action on the bone cells through MT2 receptors. This pathway could be a potential new target for osteoporosis treatment.

Pinoline has long been claimed to be produced in the pineal gland during the metabolism of melatonin. Pinoline is a free radical scavenger, an antioxidant.

One of pinoline's pharmacological properties is its ability to promote neurogenesis in vitro; even at trace concentrations in common with several cannabinoids like THC and CBD.  Further study is required to firmly establish the exact mechanism of synergy between cannabis components, but the scientifically grounded implications is there in spades.

Aluminium toxicity causes lipid peroxidation damage in the brain. A recent review of studies shows both pinoline and melatonin to be effective at reducing the lipid peroxidation. If cannabinoids can be shown to elevated these brain chemicals to optimal levels, then their efficacy is obvious.

Lipopolysaccharide produced by bacterial infection stimulates the production of free radicals, which cause lipid peroxidation. Melatonin and pinoline were demonstrated in the ability to reduce lipid peroxidation damage. Pinoline was also shown to be better than vitamin E in reducing lipopolysaccharide activity in the retina, yet another overlap with cannabis, which is well known for its ability to combat glaucoma.

Lipopolysaccharides composed of a fat and sugar(s). and are found on the membrane of bacteria, which cause strong immune responses.  These rogue fat-sugars may hold a key to inflammation and autoimmune disorders.  Cannabinoids have the ability to control or reduce inflammation in many disorders, and interfere with the reproduction of common pathogenic bacteria (gram-negative).  This is yet another avenue where cannabinoids and the "melatonin system" may work together to combat autoimmune disorders.

Avian pineal glands maintain rhythm - light, temperature, and magnetic field  and biochemical bodily functions

MODERN BIOCHEMISTRY AGREES WITH ANCIENTS

According to the most bland mainstream science, the pineal gland is sensitive to all magnetic fields, including geomagnetic fields of the Sun’s solar storms. The pineal gland is also sensitive to tissue calcification, especially when combined with rogue forms fluoride, i.e. water and toothpaste additives. Calcification of the pineal is thought to be a major cause of mental disorders and behavioral aberrations.

Combine these facts and observations with the modern diet rife with artificial calcium chemical additives, many of which cannot be assimilated properly in the body.  Worse yet, calcium rich milk and dairy products are generally not assimilated well by adults and are implicated in calcium deficiency, osteoporosis and deposits in the arteries and brain tissues.

BILDERBERGER, MARIJUANA AND THE PINEAL

This chapter about the mysterious and awesome Pineal cannot close without reference to its place among the elite and their symbolism.  The pineal gland figures big in the conspiracy theories about the shadow government, the Bilderbergers, the Illuminati, Queen of England, ancient Egypt and onto Babylon.  The imagery-worship or whatever of the pineal is incredible and begs the question, WTF?

“Brain scans reveal that pineal activity increases with meditation, with some alternate thinkers believing that certain frequencies can stimulate the pituitary and cause a sense of euphoria and connect one with the universe."

The latest conspiracy theory has Bilderberg - the leaders of government, banking, mega-corporations, discussing the future implications CERN - a multi-billion dollar particle accelerator, which might open up a door to an extra dimension.  Out of this door might come something, or we might send something through it, reports ”

What happens in the pineal gland when we use cannabis?

Research on rats has shown that the pineal gland contains a functional endocannabinoid system, in that cannabinoid receptors type 1 and 2, and the endogenous ligands that bind to them, anandamide and 2-AG, are all present.

The study showed that the activity of the CB?-receptors varied according to a daily cycle, with lowest activity levels occurring at the end of the daylight period. It also showed that levels of an enzyme responsible for synthesizing new endocannabinoid molecules, NAPE-PLD, was reduced during the middle of the dark period.

Furthermore, the study showed that presence of THC reduced the activity of an enzyme known as AANAT, and in doing so reduces the synthesis of melatonin itself. An earlier study on rats also showed that THC reduced the activity of AANAT, and suggested that the mechanism that occurred was as follows: the neurotransmitter norepinephrine starts a cascade of reactions, the end result of which is the production of melatonin. THC disrupts this norepinephrine cascade and thereby reduces the production of melatonin.

Cannabis & The Pineal Gland: Turn On Your Third Eye

Psychedelic researcher Dr Rick Strassman explains:

“The pineal gland is quite active in synthesizing compounds related to serotonin, an important neurotransmitter in the brain. Neurotransmitters are the chemical messengers allowing communication among individual nerve cells. Most typical psychedelic drugs, such as LSD, mescaline, psilocybin, and DMT are active in brain sites which are also affected by serotonin.”

“Psychedelic drugs, meditational states, spontaneous near-death experiences and other phenomena which may induce stereotypic death/rebirth and paradisal/hellish states act via the pineal gland.”

CANNABIS & THE PINEAL GLAND: TURN ON THE THIRD EYE

Cannabis or Marijuana among other psychedelics facilitates the activation of the pineal gland and helps turn on the third eye or the mind’s eye directing our spiritual evolution to wholeness. The pineal gland, located in the centre of the brain, is about a quarter of an inch in size, reddish-gray, and weighs about one-tenth of a gram. Unlike other parts of the brain which

The Spiritual Eye: How to Decalcify & Activate Your Pineal Gland

In a yogic or shamanic state of consciousness, marked by high theta brain wave activity (an often induced by meditation, drum playing with a steady beat of four and one-half times per second, or with binaural beats meant to entrain the brainwaves for theta activity) we can access a ‘trance’ state which is more likely to come from an opened pineal gland and result in feelings of absolute bliss.

“Theta waves have been identified as the gateway to learning and memory. Theta meditation increases creativity, enhances learning, reduces stress and awakens intuition as well as other extrasensory perception skills.  Through theta wave meditation, we can open our Third Eye and access the delta waves that unite us with Universal Energy and Cosmic Consciousness.”
